QUESTION: What if I have some experience dancing Salsa On2?  Can I register for the more advanced classes?

If you already have some Salsa On2 experience, you’re welcome to register for the 2-Month Membership and start by trying a Level 1.5 class. After class, the instructor will personally evaluate your level and let you know if you should stay in 1.5 or move to a higher level.

Even so, Level 1 is strongly encouraged for everyone, especially if you’re new to Scarlet Mambo, since it covers our specific technique, timing concepts, and style that all higher levels build on.

Level 1.5 (Beginner 2):  This course will cover the fundamentals of dancing with a partner.  We will focus on teaching basic turn patterns in order to construct more intricate variations. By the end of this course, participants will know a variety of fun, easy, and elegant turn pattern and shines which add flare and sass to your dance.  No partner is needed and participants will rotate partners often. The requirement for this course is completing and mastering Level 1.  Instructors approval is required for students to join this level.

Level 2 (Advanced Beginner):  This course is specifically designed for students who have Mastered Level 1 and Level 1.5. To join this level, mastery of timing On2, musicality, and basic turn patterns is required. Participants will expand the repertoire of steps, shines and turn patterns while learning about social dancing and salsa etiquette.

Level 3 (Pre-Intermediate):  Ready for a challenge? Must have completed Level 2 or have firm understanding of On2/Mambo fundamentals and musicality. Students will learn advanced and complex technique, shines and turn patterns.

Open Level: All levels are welcome. Learn and drill new movements that add lots of style and flash to your dancing. These classes have a strong focus on technique and musicality.
